Thunderbird 9.0 now available

December 21, 2011: Thunderbird 9.0 is now available for download. This release based on the new Mozilla Gecko 9 engine that's used in Firefox 9.0. Thunderbird 9.0 also includes improvements to keyboard handling for attachments and user interface, adds support for Personas in the compose and address book windows, and fixes several security issues. Thunderbird makes e-mailing safer, faster, and easier with such features as intelligent spam filters, a built-in RSS reader, and quick search. Thunderbird was designed to prevent viruses and to stop junk mail. Thunderbird 9.0 includes tabbed e-mail, new search tools and indexing, "smart" folders, support for Firefox's Personas, a simplified setup wizard, and robust junk protections that include phishing and spam filters.
