Download Firefox 15.0 Beta 4

Firefox 15.0 Beta includes a "Responsive Design View" developer tool, adds support for the Opus audio format and adds preliminary native PDF support. Silent updates will automatically update Firefox to the latest version without notifying the user, a feature that already implemented in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 8 and above.

In addition, Mozilla will improve regular start-up time for Windows users.

Note: Firefox 15.0 Final is scheduled to be released on August 28th, 2012.

Firefox 15.0 Beta on Windows 8 Release Preview

What's new in Firefox 15.0 Beta
Firefox 15.0 Beta has the following changes:

New:
  • Preliminary native PDF support
  • Support for SPDY networking protocol v3
  • WebGL enhancements, including compressed textures for better performance

  • JavaScript debugger integrated into developer tools
  • New layout view added to Inspector
  • The CSS word-break property has been implemented
  • High precision event timer implemented
  • New responsive design tool allows web developers to switch between desktop and mobile views of sites

HTML5:
  • Native support for the Opus audio codec added
  • The [source] element now supports the media attribute
  • The [audio] and [video] elements now support the played attribute

Known Issues:
  • If you try to start Firefox using a locked profile, it will crash.
  • For some users, scrolling in the main GMail window will be slower than usual.
  • Focus rings keep growing when repeatedly tabbing through elements.
  • Windows: The use of Microsoft's System Restore functionality shortly after updating Firefox may prevent future updates.
